Empowering the Frontlines: The R2R4R LTTA in Cordoba
Strengthening skills, fostering resilience, and equipping practitioners to better support refugee integration across Europe.
The Learning, Teaching, and Training Activity (LTTA) represents a pivotal moment in the project where theory meets practice. Hosted in the historic city of Cordoba, Spain, this intensive session brings together the project’s collective expertise to prepare practitioners for the complex realities of refugee support.
Core Objectives & Location
The Mission: The primary goal is to enhance the professional development of refugee support practitioners by equipping them with specialized skills in emotional resilience and civic engagement.
The Setting: Activities take place in Spain, led by INDEPCIE SCA, an organization renowned for its expertise in Emotional Intelligence and social inclusion.
The Approach: This 2-day face-to-face training serves as a “living laboratory” where the project results are introduced and tested in a collaborative environment.
Who is Involved?
The training engages a diverse group of 9 participants (3 per partner country) to ensure a multicultural exchange of best practices:
- Lead Trainers: One expert from each partner organization facilitates the transfer of knowledge.
- Support Practitioners: Six external participants, including social workers, educators, and humanitarian volunteers, join the frontline of the training.
- Selection Priority: Participants are chosen based on their direct contact with refugees from diverse backgrounds to maximize the local impact of the training.
Expected Results
Skill Validation: Every participant receives a Europass certificate, documenting their newly acquired competencies in refugee empowerment.
Practical Mastery: Practitioners leave with a deep understanding of the R2R4R Toolkit, ready to implement its 12 practical tools in their home countries.
Strategic Feedback: Lessons learned during the session feed into the final refinement of all project materials.
Toolkit Support
The LTTA acts as the bridge that connects individual training to the general objective of the project:
- From Individual to Systemic: By upskilling practitioners, we ensure that the support provided to refugees is not just immediate aid, but a pathway to long-term resilience.
- Transnational Synergy: The exchange of migration policies and cultural perspectives between Germany, Spain, and Denmark fosters a shared European identity and more inclusive communities.
- Sustainable Empowerment: These trained professionals act as “multipliers,” transferring knowledge to their local organizations and directly impacting the thousands of refugees they serve in the future.
